My name is Roxy Tickle.
I am transgender, and I live in regional Australia. I am not professing to be an expert on all transgender issues. This website is simply my story of my transition from male to female as experienced by me, intermingled with other resources and stories that I have stumbled across on my journey and found to be interesting and/or informative.
Having said that, Imma going to hibernate this website for a while to focus on what’s important to me right now. In the meantime, I’m presuming you found your way to my website to find out more about me? I reckon these are the two most important things I can tell you about myself right now:
- In August 2024, the Federal Court of Australia found in Tickle v Giggle (No 2) that it is unlawful in Australia to discriminate against a woman because she is trans. You can read more about Justice Bromwich’s judgment here.
- In October 2024, Ms Sally Grover announced that an appeal had been filed to challenge the entire judgment of Justice Bromwich, including the special measure argument that was dismissed as conflicting with longstanding law on the operation of the Australian Sex Discrimination Act. You can read more about that announcement here.
