Someone please interview me*, and pay me $150,000 for my time, experience and insight!
I would put half of the $150,000 towards my own transition, and work with appropriate organisations to ensure the other half went towards helping socially and financially disadvantaged transgender folk, of which there are many. Early last year I met with the Gender Centre in Sydney to hear from a counsellor that had already completed their transition. She told me that most of their clients are homeless, have mental health issues, drug and/or alcohol addiction issues and they are trying to deal with being transgender. Or perhaps that list is in reverse order.
* Actually, don’t. I couldn’t think of anything worse than a one-on-one interview on a commercial television channel.
